1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Madcam ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our iOS mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

By using Madcam, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

  • When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique user identifier and, optionally, your name and email address (if you choose to share them).
  • We store authentication tokens to maintain your signed-in state across sessions.

2.2 Camera and Photo Library Data

  • Camera Access: We access your device's front and back cameras to capture photos, including in dual-camera mode where both cameras operate simultaneously.
  • Photo Library Access: We access your photo library to:
    • Save AI-generated and AI-edited photos and videos to your device
    • Display and manage your photos within the app
    • Read photo metadata for processing
  • Image and Video Data: Photos and videos you capture or select for AI processing are uploaded to our secure cloud infrastructure for editing, generation, and enhancement. Your content is temporarily stored on our servers during processing and delivery. Once you successfully download the processed results to your device, the data is deleted from our servers immediately. If the results are not downloaded, the data is automatically deleted within 48 hours.

2.3 Microphone and Audio Data

  • Microphone Access: We access your device's microphone to record voice input for the following features:
    • Voice-to-edit: Describe photo edits using your voice
    • Voice-to-video: Describe video generation instructions using your voice
    • Voice-to-song: Record vocals or descriptions for AI music generation
    • AI Chat: Send voice messages in the AI chat assistant
  • Voice recordings are transmitted to our servers and then to our AI services for processing. Once you successfully receive the processed results, the voice data is deleted from our servers immediately. If the results are not downloaded, the data is automatically deleted within 48 hours. Our AI service providers do not permanently store your voice recordings after processing.

2.4 Music Library Data

  • Apple Music Library Access: With your permission, we access your Apple Music library to browse and play your music within the app's built-in music player. We do not upload, share, or transmit your music library data to any external services.

2.5 AI Chat Data

  • Chat Messages: Text messages, images, audio, video, and documents you share in the AI chat assistant are transmitted to our AI services for generating responses.
  • Chat History: Your conversation history is stored locally on your device for your convenience.
  • Generated Apps: Interactive apps created through the AI chat are stored locally on your device.

2.6 Usage Data

  • Processing Logs: We maintain logs of AI processing operations (image editing, video generation, music generation) to ensure successful completion and troubleshoot issues.
  • Credit Usage: We track your processing credits and balance to manage subscription features.
  • Device Information: We may collect device type, iOS version, and app version for compatibility and debugging purposes.

2.7 Subscription Information

  • Purchase History: We process subscription and credit purchases through Apple's in-app purchase system, which handles your payment information. We only receive transaction verification data, not your payment details.
  • Subscription Status: We track your active subscription tier and credit balance to provide appropriate service levels.

2.8 Notification Data

  • Notification Permissions: We request permission to send notifications to inform you when your AI-processed content (photos, videos, music) is ready.

2.9 Face Data

  • Collection: When you select photos containing faces for AI image editing, AI image generation, or AI video generation, the complete photos (which may contain facial imagery) are uploaded to our servers and then transmitted to our third-party AI processing services. Madcam does NOT use any on-device face detection, face recognition, or face tracking technologies (no ARKit, Vision framework, Core ML, or similar). Madcam does NOT create face templates, facial geometry maps, biometric identifiers, or any standalone face data separate from your photos. The face data processed is limited to the facial imagery contained within the complete photos you submit.
  • Purpose of Use: Face data is used solely to provide the AI image editing, image generation, and video generation features you request. Madcam's AI features are designed to preserve your facial features from the original photo when applying style changes, background edits, or other transformations. Face data is processed as part of the complete image and is never extracted, isolated, or used for any other purpose.
  • Retention on Our Servers: Face data is not retained on our servers beyond what is necessary to process your request and deliver the results to your device. Face data is stored on our servers temporarily for a maximum of 48 hours. The reason for this 48-hour period is to allow you sufficient time to open the app and download your processed results, as AI processing may complete while the app is closed or your device is offline. Once you successfully download the processed results, the face data is deleted from our servers immediately. If the results are not downloaded within 48 hours, the face data is automatically and permanently deleted. Face data is not retained indefinitely under any circumstances.
  • Third-Party Sharing: Face data is shared only with the following third-party AI processing service providers, and only for the specific purposes stated:
    • OpenRouter.ai: Receives photos containing face data when you use AI image editing, AI image generation, or AI chat features. The reason for sharing is that OpenRouter.ai provides the AI models and processing capabilities required to fulfill your editing or generation request.
    • Kie.ai: Receives photos containing face data when you use AI video generation features. The reason for sharing is that Kie.ai provides the AI video generation capabilities required to fulfill your request.
    Face data is not shared with any other third parties.
  • Third-Party Storage Practices:
    • OpenRouter.ai: OpenRouter.ai does not store prompts, images, or responses by default. OpenRouter.ai maintains a Zero Data Retention (ZDR) policy, meaning submitted content (including any facial imagery) is not retained after processing. Only metadata (such as token counts and latency) is stored, which does not include the content of your photos or any face data.     • Kie.ai: Kie.ai stores generated media files (such as generated videos) for 14 days, after which they are automatically and permanently deleted. Kie.ai stores log records (text and metadata) for 2 months, after which they are automatically deleted. The reason Kie.ai retains generated media for 14 days is to allow API users sufficient time to download and retrieve their generated results. Kie.ai does not use submitted content or generated media for training or any purpose other than fulfilling the generation request. 3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

3.1 Core App Functionality

  • Authentication: To verify your identity and maintain your signed-in state.
  • AI Image Processing: To edit photos, generate images from text or voice prompts, merge multiple images, transfer styles, and perform other AI-powered image operations.
  • AI Video Generation: To generate videos from text prompts, voice descriptions, images, or reference materials.
  • AI Music Generation: To create music and songs from text descriptions, voice recordings, or custom lyrics and style inputs.
  • AI Chat: To power the multimodal AI chat assistant, including text conversations, media analysis, and interactive app generation.
  • Photo and Video Management: To save processed content to your photo library and display it within the app.
  • Music Playback: To enable browsing and playback of your Apple Music library with enhanced audio controls.
  • Background Processing: To continue AI processing operations when the app is in the background, ensuring your content is completed and saved even if you switch apps or lock your device.

3.2 Service Delivery

  • Subscription Management: To verify your subscription status and provide access to features based on your subscription tier.
  • Credit Tracking: To manage your processing credits and balance.
  • Notifications: To alert you when your AI-processed content is ready.

3.3 Service Improvement

  • Error Tracking: To identify and fix technical issues with the app.
  • Performance Optimization: To improve app performance and user experience.

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party service providers to deliver certain features of the app. These providers may process your data as described below:

4.1 AI Processing Services (OpenRouter.ai, Kie.ai)

  • Purpose: AI-powered image editing, image generation, and chat processing (via OpenRouter.ai); AI music generation and video generation (via Kie.ai), and app generation.
  • Data Shared: Content you choose to process (photos, videos, voice recordings, text prompts, chat messages, and attached media).
  • Detailed Sharing Mapping:
    • When you generate an image, edit an image, generate an app, or use AI Chat, your photos, videos, audio, text prompts, and chat messages are sent to OpenRouter.ai.
    • When you generate a song or a video, your text prompts, audio, and images are sent to Kie.ai.
  • Processing: Your content is uploaded from your device to our servers, then transmitted via secure, encrypted connections to these AI providers for processing. The processed results are returned to our servers and then delivered to your device.
  • Data Retention on Our Servers: Your content is retained on our servers temporarily for a maximum of 48 hours during processing and delivery. The reason for this 48-hour period is to allow you sufficient time to open the app and download your processed results, as AI processing may complete while the app is closed or your device is offline. Once you successfully download the processed results, the data is deleted from our servers immediately. If not downloaded within 48 hours, the data is automatically and permanently deleted.
  • Data Retention by OpenRouter.ai: OpenRouter.ai does not store prompts, images, or responses by default. OpenRouter.ai maintains a Zero Data Retention (ZDR) policy. Only metadata (such as token counts and latency) is stored, which does not include the content of your submissions.
  • Data Retention by Kie.ai: Kie.ai stores generated media files for 14 days, after which they are automatically deleted. Log records (text and metadata) are stored for 2 months, after which they are automatically deleted. The reason for the 14-day media retention is to allow API users time to download results.

4.2 Authentication & Cloud Infrastructure (Google Firebase)

  • Purpose: Secure user authentication, account management, secure cloud storage, server-side processing (Firestore, Cloud Functions), data synchronization, and push notifications.
  • Data Shared: Sign-in credentials (user identifier, email if provided), user account data, temporary file storage during processing, credit balance, and processing logs.
  • Detailed Sharing Mapping: When you sign in or use the app, your account data and limited device info are sent to Google Firebase for authentication and secure storage.
  • Data Retention: Temporary files (such as images or audio uploaded for processing) are deleted from our servers immediately once the processed results are successfully downloaded to your device. If the results are not downloaded, temporary files are automatically deleted within 48 hours.

4.3 In-App Purchases

  • Purpose: Subscription and credit pack purchases.
  • Data Shared: Transaction information for purchase verification. Your payment details are handled entirely by Apple and are never shared with us.

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Local Storage

  • User Preferences: Authentication state, user settings, and subscription status are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage mechanisms.
  • Photos and Videos: Original and processed photos and videos are stored in your device's photo library under your control.
  • Chat History: AI chat conversations are stored locally on your device.
  • Generated Apps: Interactive apps created through AI chat are stored locally on your device. You can organize them into folders, share them, or delete them at any time.
  • Processing Queue: Pending AI processing jobs are stored locally to enable background processing.
  • Music Player State: Equalizer settings, playback preferences, and audio configurations are stored locally.

5.2 Cloud Storage

  • Authentication Tokens: Your authentication tokens are securely stored in our cloud infrastructure.
  • Temporary File Storage: Files (images, audio, video) are temporarily stored in our cloud during AI processing and delivery. Once you successfully download the processed results, the files are deleted immediately. If not downloaded, files are automatically deleted within 48 hours.
  • Account Data: Your credit balance, subscription status, and processing logs are stored securely in our cloud database.
  • API Keys: All service credentials are stored server-side and are never exposed in the app.

5.3 Security Measures

  • Encryption: All network communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
  • Secure Authentication: We use industry-standard authentication protocols including Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google.
  • API Security: API keys and service credentials are stored server-side and never exposed in the app.
  • Transaction Verification: All in-app purchases are verified using Apple's secure verification system.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not use any analytics or advertising SDKs. We only share data in the following circumstances:

6.1 Service Providers

  • We share your content (photos, videos, audio, text prompts) with our AI service providers solely for the purpose of processing your requests (editing, generation, chat responses).
  • We use cloud infrastructure providers for authentication, secure data storage, and server-side processing.
  • All service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify. We confirm that any third party with whom we share user data will provide the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this privacy policy.

6.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal processes.

6.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

7. Your Privacy Rights

7.1 Access and Control

  • Camera and Microphone Access: You can manage camera and microphone permissions in iOS Settings > Madcam.
  • Photo Library Access: You can manage photo library permissions in iOS Settings > Madcam.
  • Music Library Access: You can manage Apple Music access in iOS Settings > Madcam.
  • Notification Settings: You can enable or disable notifications in iOS Settings > Madcam > Notifications.
  • Account Management: You can view your account information and sign out at any time from the Settings screen within the app.

7.2 Data Deletion

  • Local Data: Signing out will remove your authentication state and locally stored preferences from the device.
  • Photos and Videos: You can delete processed photos and videos from your photo library at any time.
  • Chat History: You can delete individual conversations or all chat history within the app.
  • Generated Apps: You can delete any generated apps from the Apps section within the app.
  • Account Data: To request complete deletion of your account and all associated data, you can sign out within the app or contact us through the App Store developer contact information.

7.3 California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to know what personal information is collected
  • Right to know if personal information is sold or disclosed
  • Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (Note: We do not sell personal information)
  • Right to deletion of personal information
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

7.4 European Privacy Rights

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right of access to your personal data
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to restrict processing
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to object to processing
  • Right to withdraw consent

8. Children's Privacy

Madcam is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us through the App Store, and we will delete such information.

9. Data Retention

  • Authentication Data: Retained for as long as you maintain an active account.
  • Processing Logs: Retained temporarily for troubleshooting and automatically deleted after processing completion.
  • Subscription Data: Retained as required by Apple's policies and applicable tax laws.
  • Media Files: Your photos, videos, and audio recordings are temporarily stored on our servers during AI processing and delivery. Once you successfully download the processed results to your device, the media files are deleted from our servers immediately. If the results are not downloaded, media files are automatically deleted within 48 hours. All processed content is ultimately stored locally on your device.
  • Chat History: Stored locally on your device and retained until you delete it.
  • Generated Apps: Stored locally on your device and retained until you delete them.
  • Credit Balance: Retained for as long as you maintain an active account.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States where our cloud infrastructure is hosted. These countries may have data protection laws different from your jurisdiction. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
  • Sending you a notification if you have enabled notifications

Your continued use of Madcam after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.

12. Your Consent

By using Madcam, you consent to:

  • The collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy
  • The processing of your photos, videos, audio, and text by AI services for editing, generation, and chat purposes
  • The use of secure cloud infrastructure for authentication and data processing
  • The temporary transmission of your content to AI service providers for processing

13. Permissions Summary

Madcam requests the following iOS permissions:

  • Camera Access: Required to capture photos using front, back, or dual cameras.
  • Photo Library (Full Access): Required to save and manage your photos and videos within the app.
  • Microphone Access: Required for voice-to-edit, voice-to-video, voice-to-song, and AI chat voice input features.
  • Apple Music Library: Required to browse and play your music library within the app's music player.
  • Notifications: Used to inform you when your AI-processed content (photos, videos, music) is ready.

You can manage these permissions at any time in iOS Settings > Madcam.

14. Do Not Track

Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" feature. Since Madcam is a mobile app and not a website, this feature does not apply. We do not track your activity outside of the app and do not use any tracking or advertising technologies.

17.1 Apple App Store Privacy Labels

In accordance with Apple's privacy requirements, we disclose:

  • Data Used to Track You: None
  • Data Linked to You: User identifier, email (optional), photos and videos you process, voice recordings you submit, purchase history
  • Data Not Linked to You: Diagnostic data, usage logs

17.2 AI Processing Notice

Your photos, videos, voice recordings, text prompts, and chat messages are processed by artificial intelligence services. Your content is uploaded to our servers, transmitted to AI services for processing, and the results are returned to our servers for you to download. We use secure, encrypted connections throughout this process. Your content is temporarily stored on our servers during processing and delivery — it is deleted immediately once you successfully download the results, or automatically within 48 hours if not downloaded. Our AI service providers do not permanently store your content after processing. Do not submit content containing sensitive personal information that you do not wish to be analyzed by AI systems.

17.3 Background Processing

Madcam may continue processing your content (images, videos, music) in the background after you leave the app. This ensures your AI-processed content is completed and saved to your device even if you switch to another app or lock your device.

17.4 Generated App Data

Interactive apps created through the AI chat feature are stored entirely on your device. You can share these apps with others as exportable files. Shared apps do not contain any personal data beyond the app content itself.

17.5 Music Playback

The built-in music player accesses your Apple Music library solely for local playback on your device. No music data, listening history, or library information is transmitted to our servers or any third parties.

17.6 Face Data Disclosure

Madcam's AI image editing, image generation, and video generation features allow users to submit photos containing faces for AI-powered processing. The data flow is: photos are uploaded from the user's device to our servers, then transmitted to our third-party AI processing services (OpenRouter.ai for image editing and generation; Kie.ai for video generation) via secure, encrypted connections. The processed results are returned to our servers and then downloaded to the user's device. The AI preserves facial features from the original photo while applying the requested changes. Madcam does not perform any on-device face detection, recognition, tracking, or biometric analysis. No face templates, facial geometry maps, or biometric identifiers are created. Face data is not retained on our servers beyond the processing and delivery period. It is stored temporarily for a maximum of 48 hours solely to allow the user time to download their processed results, as processing may complete while the app is closed or the device is offline. Once results are downloaded, face data is deleted immediately; if not downloaded within 48 hours, it is permanently deleted. Face data is not retained indefinitely under any circumstances. Regarding third-party storage: OpenRouter.ai does not store submitted content (including face data) — it maintains a Zero Data Retention policy and only stores metadata that does not include image content. Kie.ai stores generated media files for 14 days to allow time for result retrieval, after which they are automatically deleted; log records are stored for 2 months and then deleted. Face data is shared only with OpenRouter.ai and Kie.ai for the sole purpose of providing the AI processing capabilities the user requested, and is not shared with any other third parties. Users can manage photo library access in iOS Settings > Madcam and delete processed photos at any time.
